5. Your Account

To use certain features of Score Leagues you must create an account. When creating an account you agree that:

  • the information you provide is accurate;
  • you will keep your details up to date;
  • you will maintain the security of your account;
  • you are responsible for all activity carried out using your account.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You must use the Service fairly and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service in a way that:

  • harms other users;
  • attempts to gain an unfair advantage;
  • infringes another person’s rights.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Score Leagues fairly and responsibly. You must not:

  • create an account using false or misleading information;

  • create multiple accounts to obtain an unfair advantage;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service;
  • attempt to access accounts, data or systems that you are not authorised to access;

If you discover a bug, security vulnerability or other issue that could affect the Service or its users, you must not exploit or publicly disclose it before giving us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the issue.

8. Competitions and Rules

Predictions submitted through Score Leagues are governed by the published Rules, which form part of these Terms. The Rules explain, among other things:

  • how predictions are submitted;
  • when predictions lock;
  • how points are awarded;
  • how leagues operate;
  • how ties are resolved; and
  • any Competition-specific rules.

You are responsible for ensuring that any prediction you submit is made before the applicable deadline.

Predictions submitted after the applicable deadline will not be accepted.

Once a competition has concluded, its results and points are treated as final. If you believe that points have been awarded incorrectly or that a technical error has affected the outcome, you may contact us to request a review. If we identify a genuine error, we may correct the affected results or points. We will not amend completed competitions simply because a user disagrees with the outcome or scoring rules.

9. Competition Integrity

We want Score Leagues to be enjoyable and fair for everyone. You must not engage in any activity intended to gain an unfair advantage over other users. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • creating multiple accounts;
  • exploiting software bugs or unintended behaviour;
  • attempting to manipulate predictions, scoring or league standings;
  • using automated software or scripts to interact with the Service;
  • interfering with the normal operation of the Service; or
  • attempting to access data or functionality that has not been made available to you.

If you become aware of a bug or security vulnerability, we ask that you report it to us promptly. We may investigate behaviour that appears to undermine the integrity or fair operation of the Service.

10. Suspension and Account Restrictions

We may suspend or restrict access to your account where we reasonably believe it is necessary to:

  • protect the security or integrity of the Service;
  • investigate suspected breaches of these Terms;
  • prevent abuse of the Service;
  • comply with legal obligations; or
  • protect other users.

Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the reason for any suspension. Temporary suspensions do not prevent us from taking further action if we conclude that these Terms have been breached.

11. Termination and Account Deletion

You may request the deletion of your account at any time using the functionality provided within the Service.

Account deletion requests are subject to a 24-hour cancellation period. During this period, you may withdraw your deletion request.

After the cancellation period expires, your account will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Certain information may be retained where necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations;
  • maintain the integrity of completed Competitions;
  • resolve disputes;
  • protect the security of the Service; or
  • exercise or defend legal claims.

We may close accounts that have been inactive for at least two years. Where reasonably practicable, we will attempt to notify you before doing so.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, scoring methodology, probability models, algorithms and other intellectual property, is owned by or licensed to Score Leagues and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise exploit any part of the Service except where permitted by law or with our prior written permission.

We may improve or modify the scoring methodology, probability models, algorithms and other systems used to operate the Service from time to time. Any such changes will apply only to future Competitions and will not alter the outcome or scoring of Competitions that have already concluded.

13. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content to the Service, you grant Score Leagues a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, copy, process, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating, maintaining, improving and promoting the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit:

  • is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • does not infringe another person’s rights;
  • is not unlawful, offensive or abusive; and
  • complies with these Terms and the Rules.

We may remove content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or the Rules.

14. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and operating reliably. However, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors. We may suspend, restrict or interrupt access to the Service where reasonably necessary to:

  • maintain, repair or improve the Service;
  • protect the security or integrity of the Service;
  • investigate suspected misuse;
  • comply with legal obligations; or
  • respond to circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where reasonably practicable, planned maintenance will be carried out in a way that minimises disruption.

15. Beta Service

Score Leagues is currently provided as a beta service. Features, functionality and Competitions may be added, modified or removed as the Service develops. Although we take reasonable care in developing and operating the Service, beta services may contain bugs, errors or unexpected behaviour. Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise disruption and correct issues as they are identified.

16. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Subject to the paragraph above, Score Leagues shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.

We are responsible only for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

You are responsible for ensuring that your own devices, internet connection and software are suitable for accessing the Service.

17. Changes to the Service

We may modify, update, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service from time to time.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of changes that are likely to have a material impact on users.

We may introduce new features, remove existing features or change how the Service operates as it continues to develop.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users before the updated Terms take effect.

By continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.

19. Communications

We may contact you regarding:

  • your account;
  • security matters;
  • Competitions;
  • updates to the Service;
  • changes to these Terms;
  • information necessary for the operation of the Service; and
  • any other matter relating to your use of Score Leagues.

Where you have chosen to receive optional notifications or emails, you may manage those preferences through the settings we make available.

20. Force Majeure

We shall not be responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where that failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, war, terrorism, civil unrest, industrial disputes, widespread internet or telecommunications failures, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers.

We will use reasonable efforts to resume normal operation of the Service as soon as reasonably practicable.

21. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be treated as severed to the minimum extent necessary. The remainder of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.

22. Assignment

We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation or sale of all or substantially all of our business or assets.

You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

23. Third Party Rights

A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right to enforce any provision of these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service.
